Over 1,000 psalms, hymns and spiritual songs include not only direct praise, but doctrine, experience and exhortation, enabling the saints to edify one another in their singing.

Charles H. Spurgeon (1834–1892) was an English Baptist pastor at New Park Street Chapel, London (which later became the Metropolitan Tabernacle), for thirty–eight years. As the nineteenth century’s most prolific preacher and writer, his ministry legacy continues today among Christians of various denominations, among whom he is affectionately known as the “Prince of Preachers”.
