Informative and Inspiring, But Not Perfect

I read William Carey: Obliged to Go because I needed it for a paper on Carey’s life. I’ve read almost all of Janet and Geoff Benge’s biographies, and this one is well-researched and clearly written. It gives a vivid picture of Carey’s missionary work in India and his enduring faith, which was inspiring to learn about. That said, I hesitated to give it a full five stars. While informative, some aspects of his personal life and decisions didn’t fully resonate with me. Overall, it’s a strong and engaging biography and very useful for understanding Carey’s life and legacy, but there were a few moments that didn’t quite click for me personally.
